Dubai is the Destination of the 21st Century!
Dubai is one of the most Cosmopolitan and Diverse cities in the word and is home for more than 200 nationalities. Dubai is like marmite you’ll either really love it or hate it. But for me I really love it for more than one reason.
Dubai is one of the few cities in the world that has undergone such a rapid change, from being a pearl-diving centre – to one of the fastest growing cities on earth. Having visited Dubai 5 times in the last decade, I have seen the major changes personally.
The sun shines almost every day, the shopping and leisure facilities are impressive.
Visiting Dubai is exciting; there is always something new and different happening. Just when you think you’ve seen it all, a new project is announced, whether it is the launch of a sports stadium, a mega commercial tower, a residential enclave or yet another shopping mall! Dubai is constantly on the move, striving for greater heights and more facilities and comfort for its residents and visitors.
Dubai is without a doubt is a destination of the 21st century.
I love going back within a few years and seeing more changes to the skyline, the city is never the same one day to the next. In Dubai they don’t do things by half here, they do everything to the fullest and the finished product is always incredible.
Dubai has something for pretty much everyone. If you like culture, there is the old part of the city full of temples, traditional fishing workers, markets and locals. If you want glitz and glamour there is the marina, the malls and the world-class hotels. If you want to relax by a pool and do nothing, you can do it (every hotel has a pool here). If you want adrenaline or adventure you can have that as well. You can try your skills at belly and salsa dancing, or go to the theatre, feast on a mouth-watering Arabic buffet in the desert, go swimming with the dolphins, dinner cruise on an Arabian dhow, dune bashing, exploring heritage sites, shopping, or even skiing – yes, in the desert! – are just some of the things you can do in Dubai. The list is endless.
There are a whole range of options when flying into Dubai. Over 120 airlines worldwide operate to Dubai and there are 5 airlines offering a total of 135 direct weekly flights from the UK. You can fly with the world renowned Emirates – Dubai’s national airline, where you can board one of its several new aircraft such as the Airbus A380 which flies from Heathrow.” Fly Dubai”, the Emirate’s new low cost airline operates flights to, from and via Dubai and is ideal for connecting journeys within the middle east. Citizens of 33 countries, including the UK and Ireland, are granted a 30-day visa, free of charge, on arrival in Dubai.
Dubai is just a seven hour direct flight from the UK, and therefore close enough to avoid jet lag.
Dubai offers a range of hotels to suit every taste, from the glitzy, opulent and of the most expensive and only seven star hotel in the world all the way through to the very affordable. Then you have the resorts in the desert where you can experience unmatched peace and tranquillity. Whatever your choice, it will definitely be an unforgettable stay.
Dubai is a great experience, whether you are celebrating your honeymoon or special occasion. It’s even great for a short break and has something to offer for everyone. Even for the sports enthusiast, Dubai is the ‘sporting capital’ of the Middle East. Numerous international sporting events are hosted in the Emirates every year, including the world’s richest horse race “ The Dubai World Cup”. For the Golf lovers, there is the Dubai Desert Classic golf championship, and not to forget, the Dubai Tennis Championship.
