Pritesh Vegad joins Weddings Know-How Magazine
Pritesh Vegad founded his jewellery company, which would later become Diamond Boutique, in 2009. Initially focussing on eBay as his shop window, he grew the business in his spare time, evening and weekends, whilst working as a senior business consultant for a major consultancy organisation. Diamond Boutique was officially launched as an e-commerce website in 2012 with a strong focus on coloured gemstone jewellery. By 2013 the company became so successful that Pritesh decided to leave his job to focus on building the Diamond Boutique brand in the fine jewellery sector.
Pritesh graduated in 2004 with a Master’s Degree in Business Computing. It was in 2005, whilst searching for an engagement ring for his future wife that his passion for coloured gemstones and diamonds was truly ignited. After marriage, Pritesh and his wife Mira, travelled the globe for 12 months, from Japan to Lao to New Zealand to Easter Island and more. In total they visited 23 countries and were extremely lucky to see first-hand gems being mined in Thailand. It was on his return that the idea of running his own jewellery company was to become a reality.
The company currently trades from their e-commerce website, eBay, Amazon and Etsy, and has seen significant growth year on year. The company also launched their custom design service – Art of Possible in 2013, which has proved to be very popular, allowing the customer to design their very own piece of jewellery.
Currently a team of 5 and growing, Pritesh believes success comes with passion, hard work and dedication. Pritesh is involved in every stage of the business, from working with the designer on new collections to sourcing each and every gemstone personally, travelling to Hong Kong, Sri Lanka, Madagascar and Thailand in order to source the most beautiful and rarest items. If a stone is not available he will source rough material which can be precision cut to the client’s requirement. Nothing is impossible.
Pritesh is committed in making Diamond Boutique a leading retailer in fine coloured gemstone jewellery by the end of 2015, with the aim of opening their first flagship store in 2017.
Pritesh Vegad will be writing a regular column for Weddings Know-How Magazine starting from next week.
